Quantum Efficiency: 88% Zero Amp Glow Circuitry
Capture stunning deep sky object and planetary images with no need for a separate guide camera or control hub—the 3-in-1 ZWO ASI585MC Air Wireless Smart Astronomy Camera does it all. The camera has an 8.3MP Sony IMX585 CMOS imaging sensor and a 2.1MP guide sensor which, in communication with your mount, keep the camera locked onto your target during long exposures. The cooled camera is equipped with USB-A ports for your filter wheel, a focuser, and a mount. It has a USB-C port for fast file transfers; a jack for a 12V power supply, and an antenna to control the rig from your phone. Intelligent live stacking, 256GB of memory, Starvis 2 sensor technology, zero amp glow, plus dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth make your astrophotography sessions easier and more productive.
Guiding, Imaging, and Control
Featuring ZWO's self-developed "Dual Sensor + ASIAir" integration technology, you can say goodbye to complex setups and enjoy a seamless, hassle-free astrophotography experience. With USB 2.0 ports for your focuser, filter wheel, and mount; DC 12V, 3-10A input/output ports for reliable power; and a USB-C port for fast file transfers, you can focus on capturing stunning images without worrying about connectivity issues.
8.3MP Color Sensor
The ASI585MC-P features an 11.2 x 6.3mm back-illuminated Sony sensor with a resolution of 3840 x 2160. The 2.9µ pixels accommodate a full well capacity of 40ke. The sensor boasts a quantum efficiency of 88%.
Stable Wireless and Smartphone Control
The ASI585MC Air incorporates multiple ZWO patented technologies and allows you to shoot simply by connecting your phone. The external dual-band antenna supporting both 2.4G and 5G Wi-Fi frequencies and offering stable and smooth usage within 65 feet. The camera can also wirelessly connect to ZWO's proprietary PC control software, ASIStudio, and other third-party PC software.
Instant Post-Processing and Sharing
Live stacking is supported during your imaging session. You may also make adjustments to brightness, contrast and other attributes on the final image. Naturally, you can share your imagery on social media platforms and with astronomy communities.
Low Read Noise, High Dynamic Range
The camera has a built-in HCG mode, which can effectively reduce readout noise at high gain and allow the camera to maintain the same high dynamic range as it does at low gain. When the gain is 252, the HCG mode is automatically turned on and the dynamic range reaches a level close to 12bit. The readout noise is as low as 0.7e.
No Amp Glow
Using zero-glow amp circuitry, the ASI585MC-P eliminates amp glow—a weak infrared light source often created by traditional CMOS sensors, sometimes seen in the corners of uncalibrated images. You won't have to worry about it, even during high-gain, long-exposure imaging.
Image Circle Compatibility
ZWO recommends using the ASI585MC Air on telescopes with 43.3mm image circles for accurate and stable guiding performance.
